MY HOUSE, a book

MY HOUSE was written by my Aunt Susan while in college.
As a Christmas surprise I re-illustrated her book, printed out a
rough copy and presented it to her as a Christmas gift.
Probably the first time I have not given away a surprise!

Big Moves!

It's about time I unpack the room of boxes that is now my studio.
After September's Art Hop I moved apartments and moved my studio space
out of the Soda Plant and into my spare bedroom.  I will miss working in a
collective environment with other creative minds but it will be nice to have
my art so close during the cold winter months.

But I'd say it's about time I get organized and start making art again.
I'm full of ideas, just need to dig some stuff out.

Here's a peek at some old farmhouse chairs that I cannot wait to get to work on.
Think collage, travel and the saying "a place to rest your weary bones".
Can't wait to get my hands on that sander!

Here's a glimpse at what I have been keeping my need to create occupied with:

Lots of Pictures..

I wandered the halls of the Soda Plant last weekend photographing the various art
that premiered at Art Hop, minus the crowds.  Enjoy!

Sven, the Monster

My studio after Art Hop weekend.

The halls of the Soda Plant held the 20 Mediums art show.
I had 2 pieces in the watercolor category:
Perkin's Pier and How-to-Lasagna.

I'm always fascinated by the mediums I do not work in.
One of my favorite pieces under the category wood.

My absolute favorite piece in the show was under the category fiber.
It is sheep's wool weaved and balled up.  It would look beautiful above a
dining room table I think.  It reminds me of clouds and percipitation, and maybe
that book about raining meatballs!

Some other great fiber pieces:
